European starling is a highly adaptable flocking bird that exploits cavities, lawns, fruit, and urban edges with great efficiency.

Although often treated as background wildlife, starlings are part of the real ecology of developed neighborhoods and respond quickly to food and roost opportunities. Their presence is strongest where open foraging areas, building niches, and fruiting plants are close together.
